Frequently asked questions.
1. What makes sourdough different from regular bread?
Sourdough is naturally leavened using wild yeast and bacteria from a starter—no commercial yeast. This gives it a distinct tang, longer fermentation, and better digestibility.
2. Does sourdough have gluten?
Yes, but the long fermentation process breaks down some of the gluten and phytic acid, making it easier for many people to digest than standard breads.
3. How long will my sourdough loaf last?
At room temp, it’ll stay good for about 3–5 days. After that, slice and freeze it to keep enjoying it over time. Avoid storing it in the fridge.
4. Can I toast it from frozen?
Yes. You can toast slices straight from the freezer—no thawing needed.
5. Why is the crust so hard?
That’s the beauty of sourdough. The crust protects the moist crumb inside and gives the bread its signature texture. A light reheat or toast will soften it slightly.
6. Do you use commercial yeast?
No—our loaves are made with 100% wild sourdough starter.
7. Is it sour?
Not aggressively. Ours has a subtle tang balanced by a soft crumb and rich flavor.
8. What should I eat it with?
Anything. Butter, olive oil and balsamic, cheese, jam, soup, grilled meats—or just tear into it.
9. Is it vegan?
Our plain, blueberry lemon, and chocolate loaves are vegan-friendly. Varieties with cheese (like cheddar jalapeño or garlic parmesan herb) are not.
10. Can I order custom loaves or bulk for events?
